Grey Oaks #10 Pine

This painting was done from an image used at my country club in Naples, Florida.  I wanted to capture the evening sky and the colors at sunset, along with the shadows on the course.  I really liked the way that it came out, and others did, too.  One of the members liked it enough to buy it.  In addition, it looks like it will be used at the club as an interior design element, and possibly be sold as a print in the golf shop.

Aspens 2013 - 2

These are the other aspen trees that I painted this fall.  The initial image was the same, but I changed the final composition, as well as the size.

I still love this tree !!!

Aspens 2013

This fall, I found myself in a "aspen state of mind".  This is not related to Aspen, Colorado, but more to the trees that adorn the hills around that town.  The "state of mind" is also not related to the alterred states of mind that are happening this year in Colorado, due to the new pot law.

This is more related to the aspen trees, themselves.  I am taken by them as the individuality of each tree, due to aging of the tree, as well as rubbing by deer, elk, moose, and other animals, makes each one unique.  Kinda like a fingerprint.

So, I decided to do a set of paintings based on the aspen tree.  The first one, here, has a little abstractness in it, which is different for me.  The following paintings are more literal.
